Proud to be located on main street Owen and the Yellow Stone Trail, the Friends of the Old School, Inc. offers local and tourist services to the Owen-Withee area community. The gym and old school are the only two buildings in Northern Clark County listed on both the State and National register of Historic Places. Historic area artifacts and memorabilia are on display periodically and a permanent display is being planned. The historic collection continues to grow with many local and former residents donating items. Possibilities are being explored for renovation of the old high school with potentially a mix of custom designed apartments, offices, and community areas. Community input is welcome. The remodeled gym is available to rent for meetings, shows, reunions, auctions, wedding receptions, and community events. Currently an after-school program operates in the gym two nights per week and the Owen-Withee School district rents space for elementary basketball and the alternative school. |
